End of Year Meditation
Begin by settling yourself.
Be where your feet are.
Here. Now.
Take a deep breath in and slowly release it.
Listen to the beating of your heart.
Feel the natural rhythm of your breathing—its ebb and flow.
Notice the movements of your mind. No need to change or judge them—just notice.
Now, allow yourself to sink deeper into the company of the Great Silence.
Let us journey back through the seasons of the church year, holding each moment in Light and Love.
Start with Epiphany—last year.
In the glow of its light, reflect:
What were the gifts of that season?
…your joys,
…insights or moments of awareness,
…difficult experiences that helped you grow,
…or anything else that feels like a gift to you.
Take your time.
From Epiphany, we move into Lent and Easter.
In this season of transformation and rising hope, wonder:
What were the gifts?
…your joys,
…insights or moments of awareness,
…difficult experiences that helped you grow,
…or anything else that feels like a gift to you.
Breathe deeply into these memories.
Now let the season of Pentecost and the “Ordinary time” come to mind.
These months stretched from June through September, October, and November.
In the everyday moments of this time, reflect:
What were the gifts?
…your joys,
…insights or moments of awareness,
…difficult experiences that helped you grow,
…or anything else that feels like a gift to you.
Be gentle with whatever arises.
Recently, we arrived at Advent and Christmas—the beginning of another church year.
In the beauty of waiting and the celebration of birth, wonder:
What were the gifts?
…your joys,
…insights or moments of awareness,
…difficult experiences that helped you grow,
…or anything else that feels like a gift to you.
Welcome your story, the whole of it, with affection and compassion.
Now, rest your hands gently in your lap, palms up and open.
Simply be.
Breathe deeply into this moment of peace.
You are held in Light and Love.
