Lent: Noisy Contemplation

by Janice MacLean | Feb 26, 2026 | Reflections

You can read the first retreat for Lent, Quench here.  Quench, A Retreat for the Beginning of Lent

Our second retreat in this series is called Noisy Contemplation, Here is an excerpt:

“Noisy contemplation seeks to build habits of prayer and presence rooted in the ordinary and everyday. Like crabgrass, it is prayer that fits into the common spaces of our day. It is persistent prayer for this moment and this moment and this moment. It is a practice for noisy times. We don’t need physical silence or special set aside times for practicing noisy contemplation.”
