Corrine Redden, a talented artist and photographer shares this photograph and her reflection.

I remember when I was a little girl, I would ask my dad what’s on the other side of where the universe ends.

He would answer, when we think of the universe we are like the cattle in the field, where they have lived their entire lives. They don’t know beyond what they can see. Their knowledge ends where the horizon disappears.

This window in the barn makes me think of that conversation. I like this view. It’s a lovely view and some days it would be enough. It might even be all I want to see. And other days, I want to know more. I want to know what’s on the other side of where the universe ends.

And of course, now we know, it only ends where we stop observing.
