Play as Spiritual Practice
An Individual Spiritual Study
“I (Wisdom) was by God’s side, a master crafter, delighting God day by day, ever at play in God’s Presence, at play everywhere in the world.” (Proverbs 8).
Janice MacLean will offer this individual spiritual study focusing play as the elemental and essential spiritual practice. In our play as children we see the origin of qualities that nurture our spirituality as adults.
As adults, we may be especially aware of the enemies of play. We learn how to befriend these enemies of play through soul care-taking.
Using our memory of play, reflections, icons, contemplative walks. art and poetry, etc. we will explore the qualities of a play-full life and seek ways to deepen the practice of play in our work and lives.
