An invitation to make time this Advent to ponder your Advent Pathway with this three week Advent Email Retreat series with Margie Ann MacDonald and Janice MacLean, Host of the Prayer Bench.
On December 2, 9 and 16th you receive an email with opening, candle-lighting, prayers, reflection, prompts for reflection or journalling and spiritual practice.
Each week Prayer Bench friend, Margie Ann MacDonald shares in a recording (which is also printed in your email) a special poem or story that guided her pathway through life. Using the story of the Magi, who are on the road to Christmas, she invites us to take these words into our journey.
Margie Ann is a retired Designated Lay Minister who lives in Ottawa. She has specialized in small group ministry with a passion for progressive theology. She lives with her spouse of 52 years and enjoys visits with their six grandchildren.
This an Email retreat you can download, print if you wish, and work through in your own home and on your own time.
When you order the retreat, you receive a Confirmation Email. You will receive a Welcome Email late in November and your first email retreat on December 2.
PLEASE NOTE: Prayer Bench PERSONAL AND GROUP subscribers will receive this Retreat as part of the 2023 Subscription packages.
- Your retreat series arrives by email. Each retreat follows a pattern with an Opening, Candle-lighting, prayers, a reflection, prompts for reflection/journalling, and a suggested spiritual practice.
- You receive a Welcome Email in late November. This emails helps you get ready and you read the first story.
- Your receive the Email Retreats on the first three Saturdays in December.
- Too busy to keep up? Within your retreat is a button where you can download, save and print your retreat for a quiet time.
- Some people set aside a time to retreat once a week for an hour or more reflection, others use some of the retreat each day for the week.
- Some people use some of the retreat suggestions in addition to their regular daily practice.
- Some worship leaders shape worship for Advent around the themes of the retreat.
- Some group leaders use ideas from the series for worship, meetings, retreats or wellness gatherings.
