Hello all,

This is a space where I’ll offer some prompts, some practices, some quotes and some photos as we make our way through this month. Twelve Voices of Hope .

The Minor Prophets Speak

Through June and July we hear Twelve Voices of Hope. The minor prophets are now speaking. As we noted in the introductory email, there are called “minor” prophets, not because their words aren’t as significant as the likes of Isaiah, Jeremiah or Ezekiel, but because their books are shorter. Most have less than 6 chapters. Some powerful images and reflections are nestled into these Books.

I picked the image of the hook on the old weathered door to represent our visual focus. Each voice reminds us that we are hinged on love. These prophets stress, in word and image God’s covenant of love with the People of God. And once we “translate” the historical context, we find meaning and purpose for ourselves in their words.
