I went to bed when Trump was trending.
I didn’t have the courage to face the truth of the unfolding.
It wasn’t much of a sleep really,
But whenever I felt overwhelmed
I found an anchor in words from the Gospel of Thomas
“Come into being as you pass away.” (Logion 42)
As we surrender, let go, truly see, a way is opened
A new arising emerges.
And while racism, sexism, all the frightening ‘isms
so seem to prevail in this dawning day
I choose to believe it is a tear, a ripping of a veil, a potential opening
An oddly tinted mirror for us to truly see
And choose new ways
For Love arising
Because of this.
