Finding Words

by | Nov 15, 2015 | Ordinary, Reflections

This Weekend.

HEADLINE BBC NEWS: Lebanon is holding a day of national mourning after at least 41 people were killed in two suicide bombings in the capital, Beirut.

HEADLINE HUFFINGTON POST: Suicide bomber kills at least 18 in Baghdad funeral.

A LIVE BLOG GUARDIAN: The Paris attacks.

It is hard to find words for prayers this morning.
When it is hard to find words for prayers, we have breath.

Breathing in our painful awareness, the ache of our heart
Breathing out forgiveness, and blessing and love
Held in divine Presence.

And if we need words for our breath:
On the in breath: Love is stronger
On the out breath: than hate.

  1. Thank you Janice for this reminder. I so needed it as my heart feels heavy. I have been struggling to find the words I long to say… Your reminder to bring my awareness to my breath and breathe is just what was needed for me today . Thank you for offering words for the breath.

  2. Yes, our breath can be our prayer, breathing in life, breathing out hope.
