Hello all,
This is a space where I’ll offer some prompts, some practices, some quotes and some photos as we make our way through this month with reflections on Judges, Ruth, I Samuel, II Samuel, I Kings, and II Kings.
The theme of this month is “Becoming People of Promise.”
Here is the table of the groupings of reflections you can expect each month. Read: The Long Conversation Month by Month.
The Complete Tank (Tanach) – Hebrew Bible – Online
Here is a link to the Hebrew Bible in case you have time to read the Old Testament scriptures we are spending time with from the Hebrew Bible.
To share with the community, a poem and a photo

Sorrow and Wonder
I am a strong, vibrant tree, my branches dance in the wind, all the while carrying
Dead wood
Longing to nourish and be nourished, yearning for the deep rest of forest floor
Waiting for fall
Swaying in wind
Murmuring, ever moving,
Love abides here.
Here is a video. I love the words and I think they help us make our way through the challenging sense of some of the verses this month. “I Choose Love.” Have a listen.

I have been trying to find the words to the song. Not having any luck. Can someone help or offer suggestions of how to do this?
Try following this …
“I Choose Love” is a powerful anthem written by Mark A. Miller (music) and Lindy Thompson (lyrics) in response to the 2015 Charleston church shooting. The song emphasizes choosing love, community, and peace amidst pain, war, and brokenness. It is widely used by choirs and for messages of hope.
Beautiful song. Thanks for sharing it, Janice. Great affirmations. Worth having this tumble around in one’s mind throughout the day and night.
